Jehovah Jireh

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4 NIV

‘Jehovah-Jireh' the Lord will provide. If God provided the ultimate sacrifice to meet your greatest needs, reconciliation redemption and eternal life, can you believe He desires to provide for all your other needs too?

He can. He wants to. He will. He is Jehovah the eternal changeless One. He can do anything for you He is your Provider. He is Jehovah Jireh.

Don’t give up on the promises God has given you because of circumstances you are facing today. Fix your focus on your ultimate Provider. Give Him praise, start a conversation with Him in prayer, He is always listening, always. Don’t give up on His goodness.

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 MSG

Perhaps you are feeling tired, tested, going through a trial or in some kind of trouble. If you are, turn to God with Big Bold prayers. Prayers only He can answer.

Turn to Him first. Trust Him. Whatever it is you’re stepping in He went before you, He can help you, He has your answers, He has your solution, He has your back! He is Jehovah Jireh. The One who Provides a way even if it looks like there is no way.

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV

The story of the Israelites exodus from slavery in Egypt into the Promise Land is full of God given provision and answered prayers, (Exodus 7:14-11:10 Exodus 14) He sent plagues to encourage Pharaoh to let His people go. He used a man and his staff to part the Red Sea. He fed and watered the children of Israel in the wilderness. My personal favourite is when the 12 go to scout the land of Canaan, (Numbers 13 NIV). They come back with the spoils of the land full of stories of how great a land it is, how lushes the grass is, how clear and plentiful the water is. They even brought back samples of all the different kinds of fruits that grew on the trees there. I imagine them standing there in front of Moses and the other leaders, eating grapes as big as their heads, juices flowing from their mouths running down their faces and neck a juicy deliciousness while talking about how wonderful this place is, how great, how beautiful how plentiful. I can see the excitement on the faces of the people, thinking no more manna!! They are almost there, so close to living in their blessing, their promise, their ultimate provision from God and what do they do? They rushed in to make their claim, right? Nope! No, they didn’t. Because 10 of the 12 were too scared to go in to claim what God has promised. They were so frightened by the giants living there they decided it was impossible for ‘them’ to claim it. So, they fight amongst themselves, decide it’s too much for ‘them’ that ‘they’ will be defeated by the Giant Canaanite’s and vote to not claim what God had promised. A land flowing with milk and honey.

They were so close yet couldn’t see their path to victory! They completely ignored and lost sight of the promise of God. He said ‘He’ would give it to them. ‘He’ would make a way, you know like He had been for fourty years in the wilderness, but once again they looked to themselves to complete a mission only God could. Worst of all they forgot to pray and ask God what they should do.

Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:17-18

How many times in our own lives do we do this? God says I have ‘this’ for you and you snatch it up out of his hand and say “thanks I’ve got it from here” then wonder why we fail, fall flat on our face or couldn’t go all the way? It’s probably because we looked at our giants and realized we can’t do this ourselves!! Absolutely we are 100% correct, we cannot do this ourselves, only the Promise Keeper can, He is faithful. He is Jehovah Jireh. Trust HIM, He will get it done!

For the word of the LORD is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. Psalm 33:4, NIV

Lift your eyes, look up, waaaaay up. Can you see what God has for you? Look around you are you living in His provision? Are you living in answered Bold prayers that you’ve already forgotten about? Prayers that brought you where you are today. Prayers that provided a spouse, a home, a car, a job, a friend, a church, a purpose, a way. Hmmmm…take a moment to think about that, take a moment to appreciate what you do have and thank Him for that. Thank him for His provision. Thank Him for being your Jehovah Jireh. Also, don’t be like the Israelites and forget to Pray. Pray your heart out. He has overcome it all for you. Nothing is impossible for Him.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Jehovah Jireh hears you and wants to bless you but are you listening for Him? Can you hear Him? He is saying this is the way to go, walk in it, you can gather up your answered prayers of provision along the path I have set for you. Lean in to hear His whispers of provision for your life.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21

God has your back. Trust Him. Have faith in Him. Believe He is for you and wants only the best for you, His fearfully and wonderfully made child. Stay in constant contact with Jehovah Jireh, pray without ceasing, when you stop talking with Him it gives the enemy an invitation to go to work on you.

Father, we lift our eyes, our needs, our praises and our prayers to you. Thank you for all you have done in the past and will do again now and in the future as our Jehovah Jireh. Forgive us for trying to take control when only you have total control over everything. We place our faith, our trust and our deliverance in you, You are Jehovah Jireh, my provider. Amen.
