Hearing Gods Voice

Do you need guidance? Are you having trouble hearing God speak?

You probably need some alone time! Go to your quiet place, separate yourself from the world and get still. Lean into His presence. Be quiet. Wait. Repeat. He will speak….

Don’t grow impatient in the waiting. He will speak to you. He is always speaking to you, lean in and listen. Quiet your mind. Remember His goodness and grace toward you. Remember the times He’s been there for you. Thank Him. Praise Him. Imagine Him right there with you now, holding you in His embrace, working all things for your good.

“You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near.”
James‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NASB

I often worry the voice I hear is my own or the worlds and not from God. This morning while talking with God I asked how do I know it’s you? Surprisingly this answer smacked me in the face……most of the time when I think it’s from the Lord, when I stop to question “Lord is this you or me?” it is Him! If I’m taking the time to ask Him about something He assures me He is answering! If you’re unsure it’s Gods see if it lines up with who He is, His character and what the Bible says about Him. The more familiar you are with His character and His Word, the easier it becomes to identify when He’s speaking. Don’t be discouraged in the process. God is happy you’re trying. Continue leaning in, listening for His whispers.

“As long as I live I’ll keep praying to him, for he stoops down to listen to my heart’s cry.”
Psalms‬ ‭116:2‬ ‭TPT‬

Gods consistent goodness toward me is teaching me to trust that He is speaking to me and that I should follow His direction. Yes it’s hard. Yes it’s uncomfortable. Yes it’s scary. Yes I (often) miss it. However, He hasn’t failed me to this point and I know he never will! Just because I don’t know ALL His plans doesn’t mean I get to ignore them as He gives them. What He’s asking may not make sense at the moment but it will all come together eventually.

Remember this; His best for you is better than you could ever dream or imagine for yourself.

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you” Ephesians‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭TPT‬‬
