You Are More

Your true identity is in who God says you are and nothing else, not your job, your marital status, your addiction, the $$$ in your bank account, or any of the labels others place on you. Smart, pretty, dumb, handsome, funny, religious……Anything less than what God says about you puts limits on you and makes you feel less than enough.

You are a child of God first and foremost. A child of the One true King. Now that’s empowering. How does that statement make you feel? When I hear those words I stand a little taller, straightening my shoulders holding my head high with confidence ready to take on the world!!

But wait, there’s so much more that God says you are. There are so many beautiful inspiring and positive scriptures to encourage and build you up.

Find scriptures that speak to you and write them down, place them where you can see them so you can be reminded and encouraged as to who you are and whose you are. Stop letting the world impose their negativity on you with their limiting views, or worse, pump you up with shallow, meaningless, hollow, over the top, cheerleading, you’re so great, opinions. When you buy into the highs and lows of peoples opinions, the sheer magnitude of difference between opinions is enough to make your head spin!

Instead of taking on worldly labels go to the Word. You can believe what it says. You can rely on its truth.

Pray these over yourself, meditate on them, memorize them;

I HAVE A PURPOSE~ Ephesians 2:10

I AM CALLED OF GOD~2 Timothy 1:9

I AM A CHILD OF GOD~ John 1:12

I AM STRONG~ Joel 3:10, Deuteronomy 31:6, 2 Timothy 1:7

I AM UNIQUE~1 Corinthians 12:20

I AM LOVED~1 John 4:10-12

I AM WORTHY~ Isaiah 43:4

GOD HAS GIVEN ME GIFTS AND TALENTS~1 Peter 4:10, Hebrews 2:4

I AM THE APPLE OF GODS EYE~ Psalm 17:8

Ask God to show you what labels, beliefs or people are weighing you down. Pray for Him to help release these negativities and lead you into the truth of who He says you are and to bring people into your life who will speak truth in love over you. Throw away your ‘old self’ to make room for your true identity.
