Trust
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
We all go through difficult times, times of struggles, times of searching, times when we feel lost and are looking for our path or purpose. It’s in these vulnerable times when we need the most encouragement and guidance, especially when we have to make hard choices that we don’t fully understand, that don’t seem to make any sense even when we know it is God calling us to make them.
One such choice for my husband and I was leaving our church of 10 years in the middle of a pandemic! It seemed so crazy at the time, this was the only church I’d ever known, this was my home and my heart, the place I had given my life to Christ. It was heartbreaking to leave there. It was a difficult transition for both of us, a loss we needed to grieve.
Now, as we look back, we can see how God was guiding us and preparing us and those around us for the move. Although at the time it seemed to come completely out of the blue!
No matter how blindsided we felt in the moment, God knew what he was doing. We had to find the strength to trust and believe; ‘Gods got this; Gods got us’. We knew we were covered and protected by God so, we chose to follow his prompting in blind faith. To obey Him even when it didn’t make sense. To obey Him even though we loved our church family, our Pastor and our roles within the church. We had to know and believe He had a plan for us, He always has a plan. It’s been a hard season of change and adjustment. Some days it was easier to stay home than to try a new church. We choose to seek Gods face and prayer, these have been our saving grace.
In spite of the fact, we have both felt great loss we are confident God has a plan much better than anything we could ever have for ourselves. We will continue to follow his plan no matter what. Even as we feel disconnected, we shall seek Him. Even when friends ask us are you sure you heard from God, we shall seek Him. Even as we lose friends, we shall seek Him. Even when uncertainty tried to creep in, we shall seek Him.
God planned long ago to choose you and to make you his holy people, which is the Spirit’s work. God wanted you to obey him and to be made clean by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I pray that you will enjoy more and more of God’s grace and peace. 1 Peter 1:2
We have decided to follow God in all His ways. Fully trusting He won’t ever let us down, leave us or forsake us. Our eyes are fixed on him. Even when we get lost or distracted because we have made such a big shift in our lives or if we make a wrong turn or go the wrong way, we know we can turn around, ask for our Father for direction and get back on track because God is always waiting for us right where we left Him!
This journey hasn’t been easy, trying to find a new church during a pandemic isn’t something I would recommend trying. However, I’m pleased to share we have found a church whose mission and values line up with our own, it’s bigger than we thought we wanted but I feel assured this is where God wants us to be!
All this to say if you ever wonder does God care about me, does He care about what I am going through, does He even have a clue what I’m facing right now, the pain, the confusion I’m feeling. The answer is yes, absolutely YES! He doesn’t orchestrate bad things happening to us however, he will always help us reach a better ending if we can stay rooted and grounded in Him. It isn’t easy and it can be frightening and frustrating at times to not have all the answers for the battles we face. Nevertheless, if you can live believing by the grace of God you will see better days, if you can trust God to give you Eternity you can trust God with your here and now. Give him your brokenness, your hurt, your pain. Let go of your anger, and your shame. Jesus can help you. Whatever it is you are walking through cannot compare to the joy that is coming. God says: “I am right here waiting for you, I know how your heart breaks, that you’re feeling lost and lonely, but I am right here, on your path, waiting to comfort you and help you get to where you need to be. You’re never alone. Trust me, I promise never to fail you, never to forsake you, I’ll never forget about you. Draw close to me, lean in. I’ll show you the way to go”
“Stop judging only by what you see. Judge in the right way.”” John 7:24 NIRV
“Do not judge by appearance [superficially and arrogantly], but judge fairly and righteously.”” John 7:24 AMP
Jesus was sent to lead and direct us in all our ways in all things. It is vitally important that our faith be more than head knowledge that our lives reflect the truth of what our hearts know and believe. Jesus is the way to eternal life because of his sacrifice on the cross. To know Jesus is everything your heart searches for, everything it longs for, He is what we need to help us through any situation. He is the answer to all life’s questions. He is the technician to resolve our problems. The comforter when we feel alone. The Shepherd who leads us along our path. The passion of our purpose. Jesus is our all in all. Trust HIM! I’ll say it again, TRUST HIM!!!!
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG
“Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”” John 6:29 NKJV
Praying grace and peace be yours in abundance and for you to trust God to help you find your Godly inspired path in every area of your life, Amen.
