Wondering and Wandering
The Bible says; “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord” will be rescued (Romans 10:13) If you have yet to trust in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, why not stop whatever you are doing right now and make that choice.
Choose to turn from your sin, and put your trust in Him. The One who alone can save you and give you eternal life. Profess your belief in Him, His life, His death and His resurrection and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9).
Personally choosing to give my life to Christ has been the best decision of my life for so many reasons. It has given me a peace which surpasses understanding. (Philippians 4:7). Even in times of trouble, frustration or in a pandemic, I find peace because I know who my God is. He is for me and not against me (Romans 8:31). He works all things for good (Romans 8:28). And He loves me without conditions (Romans 5:8). Giving my life to Christ has improved all my relationships, and helped me to look at people differently. Instead of making snap judgements about people I try to get to know them better. We all have a story and I’ve found when I give someone a chance to share theirs there are far more similarities than differences. there’s almost always common ground to build a friendship. Giving my life to Christ has made me bolder, I’m more likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger now than ever before and if I can share Jesus with them all the better! The benefits of being a Christian are as multifaceted as life itself. I’ve discovered there’s an ebb and flow of those benefits as our lives change and grow. As our faith deepens and our needs change so can the benefits of Christianity change and grow.
The closer I get to God the more my character improves. I am becoming a softer, kinder more compassionate human being. That’s not to say I don’t have my moments of BC Lorraine (Before Christ) I do. Thankfully they are fewer and further between! I am a work in progress.
I have victory over my sin because Jesus lives in me. Which leads to eternal life! Not eternal here in this world but in Heaven with Jesus. The Bible tells us ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’(Revelation 7:16-17)
When I look to the end I know there is an amazing prize, a prize so big the price can’t possibly be too great. All God is asking for is our love, our obedience and our hearts. Simple but not easy. To give your life to Christ, to say I will follow you with my whole heart for my whole life is scary, it’s difficult, but worth every sacrifice we make. And for most of us there will never be a sacrifice as big as hanging on a cross to death. That’s what Jesus did for each of us to take away ALL our sin!
With that in mind what are you willing to sacrifice for HIM?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I want to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for coming to earth to save me. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross and rose from the dead. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. Today, right now I welcome you into my heart, Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Amen.
