Let It Go
You don’t have to stay chained to your past mistakes. What use to be will not determine your future. God lives in every moment; he is outside of time (as we know it) which gives him the unique ability and opportunity to redeem all our past mistakes! Gods’ assessment of you isn’t limited to the things you’ve done in your past or what you are presently doing or will do in the future. His assessment comes from the places he intends to take you and the things he plans for you to do that will bring him glory. What I am trying to say is God see’s you as your perfect self, no sin, no flaws, no shame. You are perfect in his sight!
may he work perfection into every part of you giving you all that you need to fulfill your destiny. And may he express through you all that is excellent and pleasing to him through your life-union with Jesus the Anointed One who is to receive all glory forever! Amen! Hebrews 13:21 TPT
No more living or not living because of your past mistakes. Let them go! Live for Jesus. Live like you’ve been forgiven and set free. Thumb your nose at the devil every time he tries to throw your past in your face. Turn your back on him and say; “get behind me satan, you are nothing more than a minor annoyance! You will no longer be a stumbling block using my past against me. I have been forgiven; my chains are gone I’ve been set free! You can’t hurt me or change what God says about me. He has shown me grace and transformed me. I am holy, righteous and redeemed.”
When we understand how great Gods love is for us it should give us hope for a brighter future because he always chooses us and nothing the evil one tries to do will stop him from working through us. Best of all, God will never stop loving us. His compassion, mercy and grace are never ending. NEVER ENDING. His love has no limits. Amen
Any time you find yourself trying to own your past mistakes take a breath, a big deep God sized breath and remember what Jesus did on the cross. This should give you hope for a better brighter future. Visualize his sacrifice, the crown of thorns on his head, the nails in his hands and feet, the sad dirty bloody mess he must have looked. Think about his pain, the sheer agony he must have felt hanging on that cross. All this for all our sins. Then picture him dragging all that sin with him down to the pit of hell and leaving it there, burned to ashes, exchanging all those ashes for the beauty of his grace, forgiveness and love. God loved you so much he sacrificed his son for you!
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17 NRSV
I know you know all this. But will you remember it when the enemy attacks?
Lord when we start to go sideways in our sin beating ourselves up over past mistakes may we be reminded it is your love, your forgiveness, your mercy, your grace that is important in our lives. Help us to no longer get sucked into and feeling condemnation over our past mistakes, but instead help us remember the redemptive power of Jesus sacrifice on the cross. Amen.
