When your attitude is not determined by your problems, but by the identity that you have as a child of God, what happens around you cannot control you.

“Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow!”

Look at the story of David and Goliath. David was smaller, younger and less skilled than Goliath and all of Sauls soldiers. But he looked at himself differently, his identity came from God. He had gigantic faith and confidence in his God. He believed what the prophet had told him about becoming king in the future. That belief produced an identity of destiny, of knowing he had a future even when he faced a man of ginormous proportions. A man that scared the living daylights out of seasoned soldiers, soldiers bred for fighting, tough men always prepared to stand and fight for their earthly king. David knew and believed in the promise of God, his Heavenly King, he believed if God told him to fight he was assured victory. This assurance gave him the boldness to go out to fight and defeat that giant!

The same is true for you! If God is asking you to do something outside your comfort zone, something BIG and scary. If he is asking you to stand your ground against a GIANT and fight, you must believe he’ll give you the tools you need for the battle. The ability to defeat it. See yourself as David did. An overcomer, a child of the one true God, full of promise and potential. Change your perception, change your perspective to see yourself as God sees you. Take ahold of that God given identity and go SLAY your GIANTS!
