Be Love
Love is better than any other attribute, yes even better than faith. We need faith to connect to God but how can we make that connection if we don’t first have love in our hearts. How do we become more like Him if we can’t love like He loves? God himself is described as love. 1 John 4:8 & 1 John 4:16
We ask to be more like Him therefore having love is extremely important, as stated in 1 Corinthians 13:13: Love is greater than hope and faith.
Love is ‘the Gold Standard’ by which to live our life’s.
You don’t even need to speak the same language as those you meet, the language of love is universal. Understood by everyone. Hmmmmm that’s quite a revelation isn’t it? To know love can cut through language barriers, love is communicated without words. True Love can be sensed by those around you. Love draws people in, makes others feel welcomed, safe and at peace.
“I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them. John 17:26 AMPC
Luke 6:35-36 is a hard scripture to follow but we must if we want to be love; But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
God is kind to the ungrateful and wicked, the cruel and the evil people. So we must be kind (love) as well. To love everyone isn’t easy but it is necessary. Love is the assurance we aren’t alone in this often cruel world. We use love to drive us. We use love to motivate us. We hope love is never very far from us as long as we live. When we love others well we are well loved.
How can we possible achieve loving all people all the time? Love God first. Pray to see people the way He sees them, to love them the way He loves them, to look for the good in everyone. It’s a process, we need to be patient and present at all times, remembering God loved us first and that he loves us in spite of who we are, how we act and the unloving things we say and do. With that in mind we should remember we are all a work in progress until we breathe our last breath so be love as much as you can, as often as you can, whether you want to or not😃 Also remember your love may not be appreciated, wanted or reciprocated, don’t allow that to stop you or discourage you. Here’s a thought that may help: If you don’t expect anything in return for showing love you can’t be disappointed.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
JUST SHOW LOVE ALWAYS.
I’m feeling challenged to take a look at my life. To look at how much I’m willing to sacrifice for others to show Gods love. I’m praying for God to show me how to lay aside my needs and humble myself to love as well, as deeply, as unconditionally and as unfailingly as He loves.
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:9-10
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
Living the Godly life is quite literally a labour of LOVE. The dividends of which are both priceless and Eternal.
