Be Caught
I’ve always believed in God, even when I was a little girl, I believed in Him. But it wasn’t until I gave my life to Christ, that I understood he was a relational God, as in he wanted a relationship with me. He Isn’t, as I used to believe, a vengeful God like the queen of hearts from Alice in wonderland waiting for me to mess up so he could yell “off with her head!” No, He is a patient forgiving God full of grace and mercy and love.
Once I’d given my life to Christ, I started reading the Gospels and the Epistles, in their pages I discovered not only was I made by God but I was also created to know God through a personal relationship with Jesus. I learned I wasn’t too old to be saved (47), I wasn’t too far gone, too sinful, too unlovable or too broken. And neither are you.
Jesus came specifically for the broken, he came to love them and save them. As hard as we may try, we cannot outrun his love. It’s always there for us to receive. Always.
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, Luke 4:18
Won’t you let Jesus love catch you today? So you can start living abundantly instead of existing. Renew your commitment to him in total surrender. Let go of your guilt, shame and regret. Begin a true authentic relationship with Jesus. Learn about him within the pages of the Bible to deepen your connection to him. Don’t believe the lies of the devil that you’re too old, too sinful, too far gone…. it’s never too late to start a relationship or renew your relationship with HIM. Our God is the God of second chances and third and more if necessary! He will keep giving you opportunities to know him as long as there is breath in your lungs. Unlike this world he won’t ever cancel you, forget you or throw you to one side. He knew every mistake you would make and chose you to be part of his plan anyway.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
Accepting Jesus Christ in our hearts causes us to be completely transformed. We are given an entirely new outlook on life, especially when we realize God is for us. When we are tempted by things of this world, we lose sight of what is really important. When we look to God, we see what is good and perfect, we see Gods best for us. Keep you eyes firmly fixed on Jesus
I want to drive home this point; God is not frowning down on us when we mess up, waiting to chop off our heads!! Yes, God is disappointed when we sin. But he never stops loving us. Yes there are consequences to our actions. God does discipline, but he does it lovingly to mold us to be more like Jesus.
Jesus is waiting, let him catch you in his loving arms, wrap you up in his peace and unconditional love and transform your heart.
Father, thank you for sending your Son to die for me. I am ready to be caught by your love. I surrender my whole life to you, thank you for forgiving my sins, transform me and guide me toward your best for my life, help me walk in peace and grace. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
“For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” John 3:16 TPT
